Brainspotting

Trauma Therapy

What is brainspotting

Brainspotting, which is a brain/body-based approach, is most helpful in working with trauma and areas where you feel you might be “stuck” in talk therapy.

Traumatic events can flood and overwhelm the nervous system and cause a client to feel the flight/fight/freeze response, even long after the trauma has occurred. Brainspotting allows us to work together to locate, access, process, and release the sources of the trauma that are held deep within the brain.

A key component of this work is the belief that our brains and bodies posses the ability to self-scan and self-heal when in a safe environment. In my experience, clients often produce beautiful mental images and healing experiences that help them move beyond the trauma they once thought would never leave them.
